It's getting like . . . as if, imagine . . . you have been within a besieged stronghold, while surrounded on all sides by the enemy. So far, they haven't been able to break or surmount the fortress; yet their cauldrons and fires and shrieks ever sound out from the darkness which starts at bottom of the protective wall and is constantly taken up by the molted minions in the depths and breadth of the encircling horde. . . .
Darts and flaming arrows fly in on random occasion--one must always be on guard to put out quick flare-ups.
Spies and infiltrators attempt to, and often do enough slip in, but cannot do much within the holy compound. For those Within, have the power of God and all their vain attempts fall to waste and dissolve AND get thrown back upon the heads of the dark and doomed reaping.
For there is an Hezekiah's/Siloam tunnel ALWAYS which connects life and protection and providence to the elect who have been besieged since the fall. . . .
AT ANY SUCH TIME . . . WHICH IS EVERY TIME . . . in this fallen world, this is ALWAYS THE CASE!
When surmounted by the temporal (so it seems) with ALL of it's armies of malevolence, take heart that the battle lines are so clearly drawn!
In many a day, far too many have wallowed and submitted and languished in spiritual apathy (because times weren't so seemingly bad) . . . and multitudes of those woke up after this misty, hazy life . . . to find themselves in the pits of hell.
Take no pride in living in such a day, for it probably just shows that you are such that you need to be hit over the head to recognize the obvious signs of the times and the destitute status of your soul. He is merciful, and landed you in a time where it should not be too hard to brace yourself and awake to your awful condition.
Nevertheless, awful it is.
And the demonic encampments are on the doorstep, at the bottom of the walls, and sneaking through the tunnels, coming to overwhelm and drag away. . . .
WHEN one awakens to the situation--when the Holy Spirit is reaching out and calling back the wandering and backslidden and lazy and comfortable--THEN there is only ONE of two ways to respond!
You either go with Truth, Righteousness, God . . . or submit to the languishing violence, lies, perfidy and perversion of evil and the evil one, the enemy of God.
Come what may in the temporary . . . THIS you must and WILL do . . . for the Good Shepherd WILL NOT LOSE A SINGLE ONE OF HIS SHEEP!!!
The GOOD SHEPHERD is calling His little lambs, His beloved sheep and family, children HOME!
HASTEN to heed the Call, for the time is short and the wick is near the bottom.
