"Standing by, awaiting orders." Is a "bridge", a phrase, I wrote in a song of mine--sheesh, about 46 years ago called "Tomorrow Belongs To Those Who Hear It Coming". [I actually managed to make a recording of it years later (around 2000) in a musician friend's little apartment, using his little home recording set-up.]
I was referring to, expressing and writing of the general experience of being a determined seeker of God, hearing from Him, seeing Him, albeit "through a glass darkly", getting SOME answers, feelings, dreams, realizations etc., directions. . . . But not wanting to make any drastic self-deceived decisions just from passion or impatience to just "do something".
Well, I don't know if this--what seems to be, at last, the call to action--is the full range of the call. What I am experiencing, however, is that He is not letting it go, or mitigating it, or directing to any other message than this.
It is very direct, no nonsense and as visceral of message, directive I have ever known.
The gist of it, is that eternal existence BEREFT of the presence of God is unspeakable suffering. And those that inherit it, have no one but themselves to answer for, for they did NOT love God, seek God, serve God in their given lives. And therein lies the worst of the horror and groaning and regret! Imagine being left to your own, self-centered, self-seeking mind and it's memories of a life with many chances and opportunities to turn and surrender to God, but YOU REFUSED! Not only that, you took His unfathomably profound suffering sacrifice for casually granted, imagining "it won't be so bad that I rejected God's gift of mercy. Surely, He'll shurg it off, punish me a bit, but all will be well in the end."
What vanity! What insolence! What delusion! What a spit in the face of The Lord!
The casualness with which people live their self-seeking, myopic, worldly-centered lives, investing in status, "security", power, comfort, animalistic pleasures, bumbling ongoing sins, overt prideful rebellion, lustful perversion of the flesh in all its forms, neglect of the One Who gives every breathe, every good thing. . . ! It is truly a mystery, the mystery of iniquity.
It is ultimately Anti-Christ.
For those who dare not appreciate or accept the depth and reality of God's Holiness and that, regardless of what a human mind might think of, or imagines to wager a different (more gentle) opinion; THAT HE IS SOVEREIGN, HOLY, JUST, PERFECT and NO unclean thing can enter Heaven, and THAT is simply the fact of the matter! AND HIS WORD SAYS SO!
I've seen it before, and it usually doesn't end well (unless one repents and turns back to His Word) where so-called pastors, teachers, Christian "influencers", Christian 'personalities" start waffling on the reality of God warning of the place where "the worm does not die and the fire is not quenched."
As in, "hell is bad, but it's not really that bad. Eventually, either you'll go through your punishment and get out, OR, you'll just be annihilated and won't exist anymore." The fallen, human, self-deluded and devil-influenced mind CHAFES at God's actual description of Hell!
Poor Kirk Cameron, I heard recently came out with his son and has started making the pitch that he no longer believes in the "traditional doctrine of Hell". THAT is a slippery slope, and a sign of entering the "wide way" that leads to destruction. I had a once fairly solid "bible teacher/'pastor'" who went that route, and is now a universalist, veritable leader of a polygamous sex-cult, Jesus already came, there's no hell, pro-LGBTQ etc., etc.
What I was shown . . . and continue to be reminded of BECAUSE HE WANTS PEOPLE WARNED!!! IS NOTHING TO PLAY GAMES WITH! It is not something you want to philosophize about, or marginalize, or disagree with (because YOU think it is just too awful--something a "loving" God would never allow). . . .
Well let me ask you this. If you lived your life rejecting God, refusing to give your life to God (Who gave YOU life) . . . if you lived a life pursuing selfish ambition, self-love, ignoring the1st and 2nd Commandments, pretending to do "good works" when it was all just vanity in service of self . . . is it any wonder, that at the end of the day, the end of the life, you get your reward? As in, you get to continue living the rest of your "eternal" life doing just the same as you prioritized and pursued in mortal life. . . . That is fair. That is just. That is what you wanted. BUT you were warned, that you will no longer have the presence and blessings (air, water, rest, peace, entertainment, beauty etc.) of God. It's just YOU left with YOU . . . forever! Without God.
