"Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."
God, The Lord, The Holy Spirit, the triune essence of THE Godhead is THE I AM THAT I AM; and, such a fantastic, near-unfathomable mystery to ascertain!
It takes an eternity . . . to be ever enjoined with God, and wonder, and find YOURself Seeing Him; getting to know Him. Endless amazement and worship and awe and continuous revelation. . . !
He is so close, and yet, so far.
He is so willing, available, near . . . intimate! It is WE who are far away. Our minds are cluttered with the worries of the world, of ourselves, the suffering of our lives in this fallen world.
But He is merciful, gracious! Longsuffering! As WE should thus be, with others ("love your neighbor as yourself.)
FIRST is LOVE THE LORD GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, ALL YOUR SOUL AND ALL YOUR MIND.
When you yearn for, cry for, plead for . . . starve and thirst for The Lord . . . desire . . . ask for . . . seek . . . HIS relationship, personal presence, solace, help, comforting . . . He is there!
He is down-to-earth, yes. But He is regal, stern, albeit in a Fatherly caring way. . . .
Well, and often, I dare say, He makes deals, makes covenants. THAT is where it gets very personal.
When The Holy Spirit invests, and you are in communication; it sometimes will be, that--while you are suffering, imploring, praying, seeking . . . He is such a close confidante, that He will deign to make a deal, so-to-speak. . . .
He is talking closely, quietly, but clearly (with a tinge of friendliness, humor, familial casual intimacy.)
He does give directions. And He says, "if you do this, and this, I will do this."
It is a profound intimacy, laden with heavy, poignant, present AND eternal portents.
When Paul said "pray without ceasing"--this is what is meant; being in (as much as humanly possible) in constant supplication and communication with God. It CAN be and WILL BE one day . . . always.
In this disturbed, fallen world, saints strive and nearly achieve such! ALL disciples should strive so.
But His grace is sufficient.
One day, it is ALL OF THAT, every moment eternal!
It is a rare strange blessing . . . to grasp even a cusp, a sliver, a slight light of that future reality here, now.
It is what every saint yearns and hopes for and has faith in being realized, God willing.
He can and will be there--if you yourself are self-sacrificial (losing one's life for His sake, and, thus, willing enough to be intently attuned and devoted to--based in sheer BELIEF and FAITH--His salvation, sacrifice. . . .
