The Logic In The Offensive

When your spiritual eyes have been opened by God . . . you see the situation  for how it really is.  Before that, everything seems relatively okay.  Yeah, there are issues . . . personally and in the world, but there is a general sense of "oh well, that's just the way things are . . . somehow it will all work out in the end."  When you are spiritually blind, you tend to think that even though you know you could be "better" and that you make mistakes . . . God will give you a pass--"everybody muddles through in the end". . . .

You think that religions are all roughly teaching the same thing . . . that there are different roads "up the mountain" but that eventually, everyone will get to the top . . . except for the "really bad ones" . . . but that's not you--you don't murder or deliberately hurt people . . . so . . . all in all if you just "try your best" . . . God will fill in the rest. . . .

I know that when we talk to Mormons, for instance, they perceive us as being almost irrationally "anti". . . . "What is the big deal", they wonder?  Overall, they figure that, at worst, "the church" is a great institution that does "lots of good in the world" and it's all about just helping you to become "a better person."  What's so bad about that? What is up with those "fundamentalist" "born again" Christian types who insist that Mormonism is a "cult" and talk so degradingly about the "prophet" Joseph Smith?

But from OUR standpoint (from the basic, born-again, Biblical Christian point-of-view) it is a very, very, VERY serious matter.  You see, we do not believe (because the Bible does not teach it) that "everyone will muddle along" to become generally saved "in the end."  Mormonism teaches that almost everybody makes it to some form of Heaven, any of which (forms/locations) are spectacularly glorious compared to this earth life.  Only a few get sent into "outer darkness" (Hell)--such as the devil, his minions and those who not only refused to accept the "restored gospel" but then went on to fight against it. . . .

However, from the Biblical Christian p.o.v., imagine this. . . . Imagine if you had a friend or a loved one who joined Jim Jones' cult . . . and was headed to Jonestown.   And you knew that Jim Jones was a lying, devious, perverse manipulator of people--a psychopath, narcissist, sexual predator (which he was) demonically inspired and had all his followers under severe mind-control.   The physical danger to your friend . . . would be one thing, but above all you would be worried for their soul.  As a Christian, you believe what the Bible says, that there is only one way to be saved from eternal damnation in Hell, and it is only through Jesus Christ--THE Jesus Christ of the Bible (not the one that, ie., Jim Jones made up to lead his members astray.)

If you loved your friend . . . you would be aggressive in trying to rescue them from being destroyed by Jim Jones.  You wouldn't pussyfoot around saying, "oh, I'm glad you found 'your truth' .  . . all paths eventually lead to God, so go ahead, go with Mr. Jones . . . even though I disagree with it, I don't have any right to judge. . . ." etc.

No, hopefully you would be showing your friend all the information you had found out--the evidence in abundance--that Jim Jones was a charlatan, a fraud, a con-man, a dangerous and evil false teacher who was leading people to destruction!  You would fight forcefully and constantly to save your friend, would you not?!

This is how a Christian views someone caught in Mormonism or any other cult.  Such a person needs to be woken up, startled, informed . . . and, hopefully saved!  Our so-called "anti" position is not because we "hate Mormons" or because "the church" hurt us in some way and we are seeking revenge . . .  or we are too weak to follow all the rules . . . or because we think we are "better" . . . but only because we are in great fear for those caught in the cult of Joseph Smith--that they are following a false teacher, a false prophet (warned of in the Bible) and it is because we love the person, care for them . . . that we want to intervene, if we can, and awaken them to their spiritual peril.

We sometimes talk harshly about Joseph Smith and the other "prophets" and leaders of Mormonism, because we see that they are actually wolves leading generally sincere people . . . to destruction. We see you Mormons (and others similarly mind-controlled) as if you were marching straight off a cliff to the rocks below, to instant death.  Of COURSE we are going to shout, to attempt to wrest you away from your dangerous trance!  Because we love you!  We don't want to lose you.  We don't want to see you under the bondage and control of a wholly man-made, deceitful and devious cult of personality.

We have studied what you haven't--"church history" . . . from your own approved sources in most cases, and the evidence is abundant and obvious . . . that Joseph Smith was a religious charlatan, liar, deceiver and blasphemer of the one, true, holy God!

OF COURSE we are going to be a bit disparaging and rough with him.  Would you be upset if we called Charles Manson or Jim Jones or any other dangerous cult leader a madman, a wolf, an evil fraud?

"But Joseph Smith is not like THOSE two nut cases!" you might exclaim.  "He didn't murder or hurt anybody like THEY did!"

And we would have to say, actually, Smith might be worse.  Where Charles Manson and Jim Jones were able to influence and lead astray only several to a several hundreds of souls . . . Joe Smith is responsible for leading MILLIONS of souls to destruction!  And by-the-way, he did also kill and hurt people.  We know he at least shot and killed two people in the act of being "martyred" (how many other "martyrs" do you know of that killed people as they were going down?) and he is suspected of being tied to several killings at the hands of Porter Rockwell and the avenging Mormon vigilante Danite cadre . . . and if you read the accounts of the men and women Smith affected through his philandering sexual (plural marriage) escapades . . . along with his financial dealings that bankrupted many . . . and various swindles and leadings into hardships (of the early Mormons) . . . he actually hurt quite a few people . . . and that's not counting the millions that have followed in the wake of his concocted and false doctrines and enslaving church/cult rules since!

However . . . until your spiritual eyes are truly opened, you cannot see or understand this. . . . We just look like mean, judgmental, kind of wacky, "bible thumpers" . . . "anti-Mormons" . . . "fundamentalists" . . . "fanatics" . . . .

Whereas, in fact, we are trying to save you from destruction.  We are commanded to preach the Gospel--the Gospel that was never lost, never needed to be "restored" . . . as there has always been a remnant of God's people in the earth . . . and He said the gates of Hell would NOT prevail against His Word . . . and we MUST try to reach you, if we can, even if it means we are ostracized, shunned, called names, ignored, black-mailed, persecuted . . . for His Name's sake. . . . It is not out of hate but out of love and concern for your souls that we say something sometimes.  Not always; we are led by the Spirit when and when not to speak, which we don't always get right . . . we make mistakes . . . and are not always perfect (if ever) in our approach, means, style of addressing the very, very, very serious matter. . . . But we have to try.

We see you marching off a cliff, led by a deceived and deceiving pied piper and the stakes are high--the highest stakes of any that are experienced in this world, this reality--eternal salvation . . . or eternal punishment.  We have studied and prayed and searched the thing out.  Have you?  The evidence is ample and easily obtained.  Only willful ignorance (or in being mind-controlled) could explain why a person being confronted with these serious accusations would not at least search them out--make some effort--to prove them wrong or right.

Relying on a "feeling" that "the church is true" is not enough.  That is absurd when the stakes are so high, so serious.  Especially when it has been told to you that the BIBLE teaches that we are not to trust our "feelings"--that "the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked"!

It would be the most UN-loving thing, UN-caring thing we could do . . . if, according to our own beliefs and understanding . . . we saw you in peril, and you were a friend or loved one or even acquaintance . . . and saw you marching to your sure destruction . . . and we said nothing, did nothing, because we were afraid of "hurting feelings" or offending someone. . . .

OF COURSE we must speak sometimes--must say or try to do something.  It would be heartless, indefensible, irresponsible, cowardly and more . . . if we stood by, content with our own saving (by the grace of God) and shrugged off the rest. . . .

Appreciating ALL of God's Character!

I don't think it can be recalled enough . . . in this place as we are so forgetful and tend so much to drift and lose sight, assuming we attain some sight in the first place. . . .

A big problem with unbelievers and many who claim belief as well . . . is in not realizing just how serious sin is--the sin of the world and our own individual sin within it. . . .

We tend to compare ourselves to other (fallen, sinful) people and think, "I'm not so bad . . . at least I'm not a rapist or a murderer.  God knows my heart--that I'm sincere and will give me a break. . . . "

The scary part (at least the part that should be) is that God DOES know our hearts . . . and they are "deceitfully wicked"!  Most, if not all, rape and murder every day, and many times at that, in their hearts, which is what God is looking at, NOT the superficial exterior of manifest behavior.

There is a cognitive dissonance--a dark irony and deadly contradiction in many who claim belief . . . where they assert following the "gentle, loving" Jesus of the New Testament . . . not the "wrathful, judgmental" God of the Old Testament.  Yet, in fact, they try and follow the law of the O.T. thinking that if they don't actually murder someone, and do "good works" they are doing well, while ignoring the more severe teachings of Jesus in the N.T.  Now, we can't perfectly follow either the O.T. or the N.T., which is why grace has been given, but make no mistake, there are not two different Gods:  ie., the mean one of the O.T. versus the dewy-eyed, limp-wristed one of the N.T.  God is one.  There is ONE God who does not contradict Himself, even through His different (3) personal attributes.  And He doesn't change.  It is not that He was overly cruel in the O.T. but then softened and grew more compassionate and "loving" in the New Testament. . . .

No, the same God Who said, "Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass" (1 Sam. 15:3) is the same God Who healed the sick and cast out demons.  Those who cannot reconcile this seeming paradox, and thus go about creating a different "Jesus" or "God" in their own minds to worship . . . with Whom they are more comfortable . . . make a grave error and refuse to comprehend the full revealed character of the Lord.  Which is a sin to do and akin to what the serpent tempted Adam and Eve to do in the beginning . . . which has led to vast evil and corruption in this world.  The one who does this similarly causes a great deal of evil and corruption in their own lives as well, for the "truth is not in them".

I heard one of my favorite pastors last night, addressing some of this, describe God as "scary holy".  This is not, of course, in any morbid sense that we see Him thus, but in His sovereign, perfectly holy, just, holiness.  "Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom."

I also find that those who ignore God's wrath . . . often don't really appreciate or realize the depth of His mercy and love, paradoxically, as well, though this is what they think they are focused on.

But the two go together.  When we do not realize the seriousness of our sin against a Holy God, we do not fully grasp the depth and scope and beauty of His grace and mercy. . . .

Palate Cleansers

Amidst the muck of the day, a few palate cleansers. . . . . God bless you
------------------------
“The central problem of our age is not liberalism or modernism, nor the old Roman Catholicism or the new Roman Catholicism, nor the threat of communism, nor even the threat of rationalism and the monolithic consensus which surrounds us. All these are dangerous but not the primary threat. The real problem is this: the church of the Lord Jesus Christ, individually corporately, tending to do the Lord’s work in the power of the flesh rather than of the Spirit. The central problem is always in the midst of the people of God, not in the circumstances surrounding them.”

“Christians . . . ought not to be threatened by fantasy and imagination. Great painting is not "photographic": think of the Old Testament art commanded by God. There were blue pomegranates on the robes of the priest who went into the Holy of Holies. In nature there are no blue pomegranates. Christian artists do not need to be threatened by fantasy and imagination, for they have a basis for knowing the difference between them and the real world "out there." The Christian is the really free person--he is free to have imagination. This too is our heritage. The Christian is the one whose imagination should fly beyond the stars.”

“God's Word will never pass away, but looking back to the Old Testament and since the time of Christ, with tears we must say that because of lack of fortitude and faithfulness on the part of God's people, God's Word has many times been allowed to be bent, to conform to the surrounding, passing, changing culture of that moment rather than to stand as the inerrant Word of God judging the form of the world spirit and the surrounding culture of that moment.”

Get Real and misc. notes/new vids

It's Monday, a new week . . . we got snow up on the mountain peaks last week . . . fall's a'comin' . . . then winter. . . . There's nothing new under the sun; "wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new."

If nothing ever feels new; if new vistas of understanding never happen, then you have got to wonder, "am I really in Christ?"  If roteness, staleness, dryness, irritable angst are your constant companions, chances are good you are not applying yourself to the things of God.  A good, regular dose of The Word is the prescription for that. . . .

The phrase for the day:  "For your good . . . and God's glory."
Not as an empty platitude, but experienced, believed and having faith in . . . that truth . . . !

----------------------------------

I finally got up a couple of new videos to my Youtube channel. . . . I've got several more to add, but it is so hard to get to anything these days besides the daily rigamarole.  Aye, but we press on . . . cheerfully . . . with occasionally inserts of dark, gallows humor, heh. . . .

Jackson's band is playing the big show this week, Thursday.  That will be when they open up for the popular national "indie-folk" act who's coming to town, "The Head And The Heart".  It will be downtown, outside at our central city park, for the "Twilight Summer Concert Series" which usually draws crowds into the several thousands. . . .

The videos I put up include some clips of Jack's band when we saw them down south in St. George Utah at club there . . . and some footage of me painting a banner for one of their shows . . . and their amazing, cute dog (our "granddog") "Banjo". . . .

If you click on the Youtube link here on the sidebar, they should be available to check out. . . .
------------------------------------
Quick notes:
-"A" . . . the t-shirt is truly shortly on the way for your fan daughter. . . .
-LL thanks for the reading update.... If you can find it, I really think you should check out
"The Age Of Martyrs: Christianity from Diocletian (284) to Constantine (337)" by
Abbot Giuseppe Ricciotti. . . . It was a convicting, astounding, glorifying to God kind of read on that subject, well-handled I thought covering not just the martyrdom's but the theological issues involved which still remain relevant today.   Especially the  matter of the Donatists--those who seemed to compromise with the powers-to-be during the persecution, then wanted to be re-admitted to the Body.  This is an issue that I think we will be seeing soon ourselves, up close and personal. . . .
-Oh, and _____ . . . re the matter of the multi-level marketing company locally here you queried about......I am still trying to get more details... but I can say in general, "MLM's" are huge here in Mormon "Zion" . . . and nearly all of them turn out bad. "Get rich quick" schemes abound in this culture, which you find as a theme running all the way back to Joseph Smith and his epitome scheme of creating the supposed "restored Gospel". . . . He himself was constantly getting involved in shady land deals, banking schemes, and other dubious investment rackets . . . always hiding from the law . . . and as a matter of course, I, we, and most sensible people around here never fall for the ubiquitous MLM's that pop up here and especially in their church congregations where the scam artists love to go to fleece the flock under cover ecclesiastical protection and wiles........

The Answer To The Assault

I am suspecting there is a massive attack underway . . . lately more than ever . . . targeting the area where we communicate with and feel the presence of God.  It is something like a jamming of the frequency. . . . I believe it is being done on the physical level, with technology, where some type of instrument can disrupt or block the operation of the brain and mind where the brain and mind would normally receive spiritual impulses, communications . . . and it is being done through vast and deep manipulation of consciousness through deception, mis-direction, propaganda--in a word "lies"--on every level of social media. . . .

To the individual . . . it feels as if you no longer "hear" God . . . "hear" or "feel" the Spirit.  You feel cut off, isolated, left alone, although you still believe.  It is alarming and meant to be.  It is also meant to get you "off topic", away from thoughts and feelings and interaction with the Lord and left to wander in a mental and emotional space of various lies and fantasies . . . caught drifting around in the enemy camp.

It is also meant to make you doubt.  Do I really believe in God, in the Bible?  Is there something else, some better nuance I've been missing?  Am I really saved, "born again"?  Do I even care anymore?

How do you fight through this attack--this massive coordinated assault of the enemy?

Another ploy being used is to cause you to start questioning the purpose of your life.  Has it all been a waste?  Have you been thwarted from your dreams, your destiny?  Then follows a new prompting to retake your abandoned goals . . . but note, if you look carefully and honestly, you will see that these are nothing more than sinful self-seeking . . . though may be disguised as service, art, or some other "important" contribution to society, to the world. . . .

Inspiration, motivation, hunger and thirst for the true things of God seem dim, faded, lost, gone. . . . While the disguised self-pursuits suddenly bring at last some new vigor that was lacking.  However, if you scrape the surface, you will discover resentment and anger are the actual fuels to the new tack. . . .

Tricks, deception, lies, illusion, delusion, mis-direction, compromise. . . . These are the weapons of the adversary and they are profoundly ubiquitous and insidious. . . .

Beware the subjective urges and interpretations to "change things up". . . .

OBJECTIVE truth is the great friend and light out of the evil morass. . . .

So, how to fight through this suffocating blitzkrieg?

Beware . . . the answer will provoke a slight repulsion and aversion and seeming loss of energy.  You will immediately be tempted to run to another distraction . . . to get energy from the lies which do have some temporary lift. . . .

Note . . . that sudden sense of aversion and sinking feeling . . . when hearing the answer . . . is the false you, the "old man" . . . the one of "Egypt" fighting for its "life".  But it is actually dead, though still kicking, twitching and it craves one last round, some final gasps and the Enemy (vainly) hopes to use it to tear you aware from God's care. . . .

The answer . . . as always . . . is the Gospel.

What is the Gospel?  Many don't know, many forget. . . .

Sometimes it is good to review what the Gospel is NOT:

The gospel is not behavior modification, becoming a "better person" or learning to become more moral.
The Gospel is not the telling of nice-sounding stories, or personal experiences.
The Gospel is not a way (in other words, a system) to follow.
The Gospel is not how we feel about things. Some depend on their emotions to tell them they are in   the right way or are hearing the truth. The Bible never speaks about feeling truth. Feelings are a most undependable guide—they vary from hour to hour and person to person.
The Gospel is not something unfinished which is yet being completed. Salvation depends, not on what we do for God, but on what He has done for us. It depends on the finished work of the Lord Jesus on the cross—a perfect and complete work.
The Gospel is not an example of how to live in order to be right with God. Nor is the Gospel a demand that we give God "our very best."
The Gospel is not the "church in the home."
The Gospel is not a "way" of ministry.
The Gospel is not an excuse to impose traditions of men and standards of outward appearance.
The Gospel is not your testimony.
The Gospel is not the Bible.
The Gospel is not repentence.
The Gospel a demand that you give up the world, that you give up your sins, that you break off bad habits, and try to cultivate good ones.
The Gospel is not a supernatural experience.
The gospel is not an act of kindness.
The Gospel is not water baptism.
The Gospel is not "surrender your life to Christ."
The Gospel is not "give your heart to Jesus."
The Gospel is not "choose life."
The Gospel is not "invite Jesus in to your life."
The Gospel is not "You must do the will of God to be saved."
The Gospel is not  "I am asking you to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord."
The Gospel is not "Turn over your life to Christ."
The Gospel is not your spiritual experience.
The Gospel is not the Ten Commandments
The Gospel is not trying to be the "best you can be."
The Gospel is not "your best life now."
The Gospel is not being healed.
The Gospel is not a recitation of theological truths.
The Gospel is not man's "free will."

The Gospel IS an objective, statement of fact:

It is "the royal announcement that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, lived a perfect life in our place, died a substitutionary death on the cross for our sins, rose triumphantly from the grave to launch God’s new creation, and is now exalted as King of the world.  This announcement calls for a response: repentance (mourning over and turning from our sin, trading our agendas for the kingdom agenda of Jesus Christ) and faith (trusting in Christ alone for salvation)."  (from Trevon Wax)

This the Gospel, the "good news" . . . to be proclaimed to the world.

Recalling the Gospel then puts all things into proper perspective.  It is very simply then whether one believes It or not.  If you don't then you will continue down the "humanist" path which leads to destruction.  There are really only two religions in the world:  1) human attainment and, 2) Divine accomplishment.  "Do" versus . . . "Done".

Regardless of how you are feeling, whether you feel or "hear" the Spirit presently or not--if the enemy is "jamming" your spiritual communications or not . . . just go to the Gospel.  Recall that objective, statement of Truth, of historical fact!

Then it does not matter what stage in your spiritual development (sanctification) you are at, if you are temporarily stalled or not.  If you believe in Christ, in the Gospel--TRULY believe it--the rest will follow and you are saved.  That's it!  Stunning GOOD NEWS!  All of the armies of Satan, ghouls and worldly murderers, liars and thieves alike . . . CANNOT snatch you from the Lord's protection.  He promised He will not lose A SINGLE ONE that the Father has given Him!

Do not be distracted from this.  Recall it often.  Revel in it.  Proclaim it. . . .

THAT is the "answer" to any and all current and future oppression.

The Lording Problem of Some Women

This should be interesting to see how develops. . . . Matt Slick, who has a radio show which comes on here on our local Christian station . . . has had an epiphany and, probably thanks somewhat to his aspergers, is going ahead and talking about it. . . .

At the same time he has been mentioning how he has noticed a real uptick in the vitriolic attacks on Christians, especially, it seems, the "doctrines of grace".  He said yesterday it use to be mostly just the atheists who really went after him (on the internet, in chat rooms, debates and such) . . . with the usual hatred, sarcasm, mean illogic etc., but now so-called "Christians" have been going after him (primarily cultish-like KJV only, anti-Calvinist types) in much the same way. . . .

I know he already has the militant homosexuals after him . . . as he is a straight-forward guy and just teaches what the Bible says, which God-haters can't stand. . . . But I think his latest subject and tack will probably bring him more trouble than all the previous areas mentioned combined. . . .

Heh . . . he has discovered . . . and is starting to talk about . . . how women . . . have had an easy go of it . . . been lording it over men (where they shouldn't be) and in general, where they become accustomed to dis-respecting, ignoring, subsuming . . . the leadership role of men, are a big cause for a lot of the trouble going on in society, especially in the churches and the preaching of the un-adulterated Gospel. . . .

Lol. . . . If he (Matt) keeps this up . . . oohh boy . . . he thinks the gay lobby is fierce. . . .

Now, of course, he is not saying that men should have any unrighteous dominion over women, especially in the area of husbands over wives . . . but he is pointing out the role of male headship, which IS taught in the Bible . . . and which "modern" society has completely turned upside down.

Matt has been pointing out how so many sermons and t.v. shows, movies etc., portray husbands as goof balls, idiots, weak, or, on the other hands, drunks, violent, lustful, perverted etc., while women are held up to be naturally more virtuous, intelligent, compassionate etc.

While I agree with Matt . . . I don't think he realizes how deeply entrenched this agenda (to destroy men) has been . . . and for how long it has gone on . . . and the supernatural (Satanic) power behind it which makes it nearly invincible at this point.  I stepped into the fray a bit . . . with a work that got published in law school called "The War On Boys" . . . but . . . I have generally left the thing alone.  It is like talking to the blind and trying to explain color to them. . . . Or, it is like talking to the "living dead" trying to explain Jesus . . . or like trying to explain Christianity, the Gospel, Jesus to ANY steadfast atheist. . . . Without the Spirit, they simply can't see it.  Now, I don't think all those who can't see the issue here regarding the lording role women have fallen into (or taken gleefully) don't have the Spirit.  But even those who are born again . . . sometimes (often actually) have whole areas in their hearts and heads . . . that are still completely hidden, unredeemed, in darkness, that they are unaware of and haven't yet even begun to face. . . . . Ie., many Christian women think they do walk in their Biblical role, but it is a sham, a pretend thing, and the only reason and places their husbands have any tidbit of legitimate authority . . . is because the woman has been "benevolent" enough to allow it in a few cases. . . .

Well, anyhow Matt . . . will be praying for you. . . . You're gonna need it with this one.......

The Race Card

Yesterday, hearing the news of the "protests" in Missouri . . . I recalled having written a few times over the years about Missouri . . . I remember it kept popping up in my mind as a place for some type of big "event". . . .  Just curious I searched out the terms in the blog archive and found this post I made in early 2008. . . .

Here is the excerpt:

"It is troubling to see the race baiting and racial strife being fomented, on cue, via the presidential campaigns . . .  just how close we are to widespread civil protest/strife.

Missouri . . . I thought it was to be an earthquake . . . but maybe it was floods. Though the other [racially based civil protests] could still be in the works."

Anyway, not much more to say about it, other than it is all obviously part of the orchestrated "mopping up" phase I've been describing here for years. . . . Whether this is the beginning of a wider devised scenario, leading to widespread riots . . . well . . . if it is . . . then we're off to the races......

[post note: I'm not going to re-post it . . . but I saw some other entries I made which tie the Planet Of The Apes movies to be riot-triggering programs as well . . . related to that part of my St. George vision which always struck me as odd . . . but which I don't won't to elaborate on as it can too easily be mis-used, mis-understood . . . at the present time....... . ]

Despondency Is Not Humility

“True prayer is only another name for the love of God. Its excellence does not consist in the multitude of our words; for our Father knoweth what things we have need of before we ask Him. The true prayer is that of the heart, and the heart prays only for what it desires. To pray, then is to desire -- but to desire what God would have us desire. He who asks what he does not from the bottom of his heart desire, is mistaken in thinking that he prays.”

“Let the water flow beneath the bridge; let men be men, that is to say, weak, vain, inconstant, unjust, false, and presumptuous; let the world be the world still; you cannot prevent it. Let every one follow his own inclination and habits; you cannot recast them, and the best course is, to let them be as they are and bear with them. Do not think it strange when you witness unreasonableness and injustice; rest in peace in the bosom of God; He sees it all more clearly than you do, and yet permits it. Be content to do quietly and gently what it becomes you to do, and let everything else be to you as though it were not.”

“Accustom yourself to unreasonableness and injustice. Abide in peace in the presence of God Who sees all these evils more clearly than you do, and Who permits them. Be content with doing with calmness the little which depends upon yourself, and let all else be to you as if it were naught.”

“Despondency is not a state of humility; on the contrary, it is the vexation and despair of a cowardly pride--nothing is worse; whether we fall, we must only think of rising again and going on course.”

Cars, Bigfoot, Skinwalkers & Charlatan Joe

Rough couple of weeks. . . . Well, the world is on fire, so-to-speak . . . there's that and the sufferings of many which dwarf my own, but troubles are relative. . . . My car engine died . . . and then my wife's car also developed a sudden problem, so we've been scrambling to stay mobile, borrowing cars to keep afloat--I really can't afford to miss a day of work, yet all this takes time to figure out fixes.

With God's help (yes He is in the small things too) we are managing through it. . . .

Alexander is now up in Washington state, last I heard from him, fighting fires there in the Pacific Northwest.  He said "it smells like Christmas" . . . up there in the densely wooded mountains, the great pines in that area near the border of Canada along the coast. . . . I asked him if he had seen any signs of Bigfoot--no reply yet though I'm expecting not.  Bigfoot is quite stealthy.

As it happened, the day I texted him that question, a local talk radio show host asked callers to call in with any Bigfoot sighting stories they had.  Quite a few came in--some of the callers I recognized, and they all sounded sincere.   I believe there is indeed such a creature out there.  The Hindu scriptures speak of the demi-god "Hanuman", a "vanara" which is monkey-like humanoid who was a devotee of the purported incarnation Rama described in the Ramayana texts.  I suspect these creatures are related ("Bigfoot" and the "vanaras").  Perhaps a version of them made it on the Ark. . . . Or, I think they might be related to the Nephilim, to the giants.  Evidence of the giants, besides being listed in the Bible, has shown up in all kinds of archaeological discoveries throughout the world (suppressed by "official" "authorities") and especially throughout North and South America.  If the giants were  wiped out in the flood on planet . . . then I wonder if they didn't used high-level technology to retire to space and to other nearby planets, which is possibly why there are reports on both Mars and the Moon of ancient structures still showing there.  If angels can shape-shift . . . then so too can the fallen angels, I would assume . . . and "greys" and "fairies" and "goblins" . . . ghosts, demons, werewolves, vampires . . . and . . . "bigfoots" . . . may all be part of this deviant race in some form or fashion.  And some of them may still be using advanced technologies, such as spacecraft, as they flit in and out of the physical dimension. . . . Heh . . . just speculating, of course. . . .

Speaking of shape-shifters, I don't think Al would mind me relating a briefing the firefighting crews have received in certain places . . . about "skinwalkers".  Not the supernatural kind, although I myself suspect there would likely be "supernatural" elements also related to the kind he was briefed on . . . but yeah, they (the fire crews) got briefed on being on the wares about Native American skinwalkers who still roam the wilderness.  These are Indian shamans ("medicine men") who ritually murder animals . . . and yes, humans sometimes as part of their occultic practices . . . and then wear the skins of the victims to gain powers.  This was when he was up in the Montana area. . . . I recently did a little bit of research on all of the mysterious missing person cases that have occurred in our National Parks.  Author and researcher David Paulides is an expert on the subject and has written a book about it called "Missing 411-Western United States & Canada: Unexplained Disappearances of North Americans that have never been solved". . . . He has given some interesting (and spooky) interviews on the matter which you can find on Youtube. . . . I don't doubt that some of these strange, creepy disappearances have been at the hands of some of the Indian skinwalkers who are still roaming about the forests and wilderness. . . .

On another tangent, sometimes (because I am such a big fan and proponent of READING . . . BOOKS! . . . ) I mention what I am reading at the time.  It drives me a little crazy, because there are soooo many books I have yet to get to, and there is only so much time to get to them.... but I press on..... I love learning.  Right now I'm about done with "Rough Stone Rolling", a seminal book (written by a Mormon scholar, Richard Lyman Bushman) about Joseph Smith and the early founding of the L.D.S. church.  He handles the material fairly evenly considering most LDS apologists tend to white-wash, obfuscate, or outright prevaricate the disturbing, shady character of Joe Smith and the early church.  It is remarkable how much Smith was in trouble with the law, with the government, with surrounding settlers . . . in his later years almost always in hiding from the courts, from sheriffs, from prosecutors . . . as sketchy financial dealings, land swindles, banking frauds were a part of the church's founding from the very beginning.  Some would say not much has changed.  Utah is considered by many as the fraud capital of the country.  And the plural wives thing--polygamy. . . . The heartache and grief that false doctrine caused so many women and some of their husbands and family members when con-man Joe showed up saying to some new prospect, "God gave me a revelation.  You are to marry me.  If you don't, yours and your family's eternal salvation is in question, and/or I might be struck down by God.  You don't want to be the one responsible for that do you?  So . . . marry me . . . and keep it a secret . . . especially from my wife Emma!"

And that Joe was rather fond of drinking wine, along with may in the early days of the "restored gospel."  In the beginning "the church" was a "charismatic" operation.  The selling point was that if you joined "the church" you could expect the "restored" "gifts of the spirit" (speaking in tongues, healing, revelation, casting out demons etc.,) and the meetings of "the saints" were more like Holy Roller get-togethers, with all kinds of supernatural ruckus going on.  It's funny to think of that now, as LDS church meetings are the epitome of staid-ness these days, arms folded, organ playing, with all in attendance the picture of decorum (except for the usual litany of lots of fussy babies and toddlers).  There was also the promise that once the new temples were built, "Jesus will finally have a place to rest His head" . . . and that the members could expect to see God "face-to-face" in the holy buildings. . . .

After finishing this book, I'm looking at reading Fawn Brodie's "No Man Knows My History"--a far less flattering look at charlatan Joe and the cult he created . . . and a book I found used, "Going Clear" about another con and cult leader and cult (L. Ron Hubbard/Scientology) . . . and a slew of other books on Christian (REAL Christian) church history. . . .

So . . . how's that for an eclectic grab-bag of off-handed thoughts and perusals.....
I am always interested, btw, on any stuff ya'll are reading or looking into..... Since I don't do facebook, I'm kinda outta the loop, but you can use the comment feature here to shoot me a quick message...
God bless you always.... indeed.... He does.....

The REAL "Carpe Diem"

. . . "'Carpe diem. Seize the day, boys. Make your lives extraordinary'."  ...The striking 'Carpe Diem' speech delivered by Williams some 25 years ago has made thousands of young people determined to "make their lives extraordinary"..

. . . .So says an article in "The Independent" about the life and death of Robin Williams.....

And I wonder just how many lives were ruined by that Satanic pack-of-lies movie. . . .

"So much life you have wasted and who knows how little is left?  So each moment has to be lived totally, intensely, fully."  said the guru Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh aka "Osho".  The same "guru" whose disciples poisoned the citizens of Antelope, Oregon to win a local election.  The same "guru" who was hooked on nitrous oxide, molested hundreds of his women disciples, owned hundreds of Rolls Royces, and died alone, insane, and a fugitive from the U.S. government. . . .

One of the surest and quickest ways to become depressed and suicidal is to try and make your life "extraordinary"--to "seize the day" because "this life is all we've got!"

I am convinced that the greatest cause of depression is NOT from not "loving yourself" enough . . . but from loving yourself TOO MUCH.  After Williams died, I was perusing talk radio channels and happened upon a speech given by some young fellow who had suffered from depression where he was giving the advice that one of the ways to overcome depression was to finally "learn to love yourself".  I thought, "that's horrible advice--surest way to actually always hate yourself, hate life and worst, hate God."

No, the problem is that before people get to the point that they take their own lives (which are NOT "their own" to take in the first place) they first need to die.  Die to self.  Don't "love your self" but love God!  "Whoever would save his life, will lose it.  Whoever loses his life (for Jesus' sake) will gain life" and not just this life, but life eternal. . . .

"Then he said to the crowd, 'If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me."  --Luke 9:23

When you are suffering, depressed, angst-ridden, resentful, fearful . . . in that way which leads to such despair that you are ready to kill yourself it is because there is a "you" still there, in whom you have your hope.  But what hope can there be in one who is truly slated for the worms--even the "worms that do not die"?  When your "treasures" are stored in your fallen, corrupt, blind, living-dead self, which self is a child of the devil (unless saved) then when that self begins to decay then utter panic and desperation set in.  Whereas, if your treasures are stored in the One Who is always was, and will be--Who is the good, holy, all-powerful ruler of the universe . . . and the One Who has power over life and death and over all spirits and souls . . . THEN it is a small thing to see your temporary "housing" slipping away. . . .

Suicide is at the pinnacle (actually nadir) of selfish acts.  It is not brave, it is not sacrificing, it is not an answer to grief--but is the crowning deplorable act of self-centered, self-worshiping life.

A big problem with talented people is that they think THEY are the source of their talents.  They credit themselves and when these things start to fade so does all sense of vanity and pride which are the powering agents of such a person.  All the talent Robin Williams had was from God.  It was GOD'S talent!  Any good quality we happen to have is nothing of our own.  It ALL belongs to God, including our very lives.  Suicide is murder and theft of God's property. . . .

It is indeed a sad thing, and I myself know well the depths of despair and have also been affected by the suicide of a loved one--my wife's father several years ago, shotgun blast to the head. . . .  He too was a kind man, like Williams, generous at times, creative, intelligent . . . but also lived a life of self-indulgence, women, drugs, money, popularity and when the ravages of aging pressed in, it was too much for the driving power of vanity which had propelled him to that point.  Dying to self, giving one's life up to live for God, for the Gospel, dispels and dissipates that accumulating angst. . . . Death of the idol of self is the death that needs to happen . . . to avoid the selfish act of suicide and the pain and suffering such an act brings to those who live on. . . .

Yes, there is a way to "seize the day" and "be extraordinary" . . . but it is NOT in order to chase self around this dying, fallen world. . . .

"NOW is the favorable time; behold, NOW is the day of salvation."  --2 Cor. 6:2

"Wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and MANY enter through it."  --Matt. 7:13

To be "extraordinary" is to go the road less traveled: "For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few."  --Matt. 7:14

There is nothing "extraordinary" about the "Carpe Diem" of the world.  It is common, selfish, foolish and deadly. . . .

Hope, Peace And Strength To Meet The Day

. . . .So much suffering and heartbreak . . . in this fallen world. . . .

Both my wife and I, it turns out, upon waking today, thought immediately of the suffering Christians, moderate Muslims--women, children and men--upon that mountain in Iraq, their images and cries in our minds' eyes . . . with thoughts and prayers sent their way.  Besides food and water and clothing they need guns, swords and armor and to be defended and rescued . . . while the Godless one who could do something . . . instead coldly plays rounds and rounds of golf and rides his bicycle in his "mom jeans" enjoying the fresh waterfront breeze. . . .

In times such as this I am ever grateful for God's sovereignty.  I abhor the interpretation which says that God is impotent against man's "free will" and the havoc it causes.  I do not worship a God Who, knowing such things as this genocide might happen if He made this world, went ahead with creation but stands by wringing His hands, watching the purposeless horror unfold, counting on men and their various intentions to eventually fix it and choose a better way. . . .

Either God made a world where He wasn't sure how it would all go, dependent on the "free will" decisions of billions of fallen creatures . . . and is surprised at how awful it has all turned out. . . . Or, He KNEW how it would go--all the suffering, violence, lawlessness--and allowed it to go that way and is trying to make the best of it, but never so far as to contravene the creature's "free will". . . . Or, He has intended it to be like this . . . for a perfect, good, holy PURPOSE!

I worship the God Who is sovereign--all knowing, all powerful, all present--not surprised by any of it and, indeed, has a purpose for every single act and event that is occurring . . . and that "all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."  --Rom. 8:28

Some forget that the most terrible thing that happens in this world . . . is not, for instance, the beheading of a child and putting her head on a stake in a Mosul park; or the rape and murder of Iraqi Christian mothers in the desert--but WAS the torture and execution of the wholly innocent Son of God, Jesus.  AND THAT . . . the crucifixion of The Lord was precisely INTENDED and decreed by God Himself!  There IS a divine and holy and perfect PURPOSE to ALL that God has decreed and nothing is outside of will, including the greatest crime and injustice in history.

We, of course, cannot see it properly or understand it all from our VERY narrow, finite, limited, fallen, selfish point-of-view . . . but thank God we have His Word which lets us know that He is in charge of it all and, whether we grasp it at this time or not, that we wait patently and thankfully for His plan to flesh out, knowing the ends of it will ALL accrue to His divine glory.

One thing always to keep in mind, when struggling with these things, is to remember that while our life seems at the time the all-in-all . . . extensive . . . intense . . . it is really but a brief flash--a speck of an instant--in the annuls of eternity.  We should and can know that the worst of sufferings do not compare in the slightest to the glories and rewards that we will inherit (on no account of our own!) for the endless ages to follow.

I know that is easy to say when you are not suffering so badly yourself . . . but is also true that many, many believers who have been subject to the worst kinds of abuse in this world HAVE been able to realize this truth and have not cursed God in their time of trial, but have instead sang His praises and blessed Him to the end!  And they have their reward!

It boils down to faith.  Do we really have belief and faith that He has it all under control AND that it will end up glorifying Him . . . and that we have been created to share and fellowship with Him and His infinite glory?  Or do we doubt and run to man's philosophies to justify our resentment and anger at such a God as this?

I believe their is nothing noble and worshipful in a God Who allows men's atrocities toward each other to persist, where He has designed a world that falls according to man's so-called "free will" while He stands back, basically exalting that creaturely "free will" above His own . . . allowing these horrors to continue . . . because (purportedly) man is delegated sovereignty in the realm; leaving it up to us (in our debased, fallen condition) to "choose" our way . . . and too bad if men, women and children get ground up in the process, but oh well, that's the price of  allowing (for some reason hallowed) "free will". . . . Joseph Smith taught that man's "free will" was the ultimate ruling factor in creation and purposes of God--to the logical following that men can use their "free will" eventually to become gods themselves!  [Which, by-the-way, is really what "free will" glorification is all about: that is, the wicked desire in fallen men to want to be in the place of God, making the sovereign decisions which are truly only His to make.]

Rather, I believe in the God of the Bible Who has all things under His control, with every single moment and event working together flawlessly (whether my fallen human mind and heart appreciates it now or not ) for a perfect, good, loving, just, glorifying PURPOSE that He is instigating!

Thus, while I suffer with the suffering now and may, in fact, be in their sandals someday myself, I can genuinely possess a confidence and peace and comfort and even gratitude . . . that His will is being done . . . in all things . . . for the good . . . because He IS good . . . and I have faith in that and in Him . . . knowing that He Himself SUFFERED and died for ME and saved me from myself; that I am bought, redeemed . . . that all is HIS and NOTHING is outside of His ownership and purpose . . . and that vengeance is His and all accounts WILL BE settled one day, righteously, justly--to ours and His great satisfaction!

God is the God and sovereign of ALL.  Nothing and no one will escape His judgments and rewards.  Faith in this gives me hope and peace and strength . . . to meet the day and the days to come. . . .

False Piety and Crusaders

Yes the fight is with the truth versus the lie . . . and as it relates to real world events . . . in specific places . . . at specific times--in this world of space and time.  There are many arm-chair theoreticians who propound grand principles of "non-violence" and love to speak in the abstract about being masters of fear . . . who would crumble into simpering, groveling traitors if they had to face in reality what thousands of Christians are facing right now:  their lives, their wives, their husbands, their children, all they love and cherish being confronted by real men holding guns and machetes and lighter fluid, snarling, demanding "submission" or else. . . .

Cowardice hiding behind self-righteous false piety is what I mostly see in those who condemn any and all self-defense against attacks.  I imagine myself in such a situation:  hundreds of poor, frightened, dis-armed believers have run to a distant desert village, running for their lives ahead of a blood-lusting, demonic hoard of fighters of the "religion of peace".  The families, followers of Christ flee in terror to escape massacre . . . to an ancient village so old and established as to be mentioned in the Old Testament.  They cower, they wait . . . then the marauders arrive.  "Convert or die!" they yell along with "Allahu Akbar" as they seize control of the town, and round up the terrified refugees and villagers.  The attackers rush to looting homes and buildings, desecrating holy structures . . . then start the beheadings and torture of men, women and children.  Just like the millions of believers who have been and still are locked in Godless, communist prisons and gulags, daily beaten, humiliated, tortured--oh how they long for a rescuing army to arrive and bring justice!  If you were one of the captives how relieved you would be to see an army of Crusaders arriving to defend and protect you.  I suspect that in nearly all cases the would-be pacifist would shout for joy along with the rest as he saw fierce, righteous men riding in to protect and his wife and daughter who were just about to be raped, beaten and tortured to death.  [in the case of the ancient Biblical town of Sadan, Syria it was not Crusaders who arrived but at least the Syrian army finally came and drove out the Jihadists who did manage to murder 45 of the people there of the hundreds of families who otherwise were brutally assaulted.] http://www.brutallyhonest.org/brutally_honest/2013/11/did-you-know-about-the-massacre-of-christians-in-sadad-syria.html

Much secular propaganda has been foisted on the public mind about the Crusades, by the way.  The Crusaders were sinners like us all, but, speaking of the fight between lies and truth, it is a big lie of history that they were fought primarily for financial gain and plunder.  Just as is happening now and has since the advent of the Satanic "religion of peace" . . . Jihadis were systematically destroying Christian villages and towns all through the Middle East, slaughtering Christians by the thousands, holding Jerusalem captive and the cries of the believers were finally heard in Europe.  The leading nobles who led the initial crusades funded their ventures from their own holdings.  It was expensive and many of them lost their lives and all they had owned to go and attempt the rescue and protection of the violently oppressed Christians of the Holy Land.  As there are charlatans and self-seekers amongst any group, wheat and tares side-by-side, so too were there many sincere, Godly warriors among the bunch who selflessly traveled and gave their all to help protect and defend their fellow believing brothers and sisters.

"By a.d. 732, a century later, Christians had lost Egypt, Palestine, Syria, North Africa, Spain, most of Asia Minor, and southern France. Italy and her associated islands were under threat, and the islands would come under Muslim rule in the next century. The Christian communities of Arabia were entirely destroyed in or shortly after 633, when Jews and Christians alike were expelled from the peninsula. Those in Persia were under severe pressure. Two-thirds of the formerly Roman Christian world was now ruled by Muslims."  http://www.firstprinciplesjournal.com/articles.aspx?article=1483

Defending The Castle

God is not squeamish.  He is not an effeminate, cowering, begging, pining pacifist who retreats in horror, hand over mouth when His creation supposedly chooses to go against His pleadings to wreak havoc and ruin. . . .

There are not two Gods--one narrow-minded, mean, demanding genocidal dictator (as the atheists and many so-called "Christians" would have you believe) . . . in the Old Testament; while the other is a "peace at all costs" vegan hippie with blow-dried hair in a woman's nightgown knocking on your door, hoping to be "let in". . . in the New Testament. . . .

The God of the Old Testament . . . is the same God as He Who gave the New Testament.  He did not change from one age to the other, growing more sensitive and allowing over time. . . . He does not change, He is one, consistent, perfect, holy and good and all-powerful. . . .

The same God Who said "turn the other cheek" (a highly mis-used and mis-understood text, by the way) is the same God Who told Joshua and His "called . . . chosen people" to destroy utterly the people of Canaan, men, women and children. . . .

It is a lie of the devil and the enemies of God that God's people are to allow themselves to be abused, walked on, and decimated at the hands of the demonically controlled and inspired.  It is a trick of the adversary and the would-be global dictators to convince Believers that they are to succumb to social, political and spiritual evils--to shut up, lie down and hide, while wickedness runs rampant un-opposed. . . .

The Remnant do not fight evil with evil and do not resist unrighteously, but they are expected to stand and proclaim the truth of God, "resist the devil", protect and defend the weak, the poor, the persecuted, practically, temporally . . . within the context of the overall fight  "against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."  --Eph. 6:12

Lord Jesus is a King, a conqueror, the supreme ruler above all.  His people are made strong, conquerors, defenders and protectors, in Him.  Do not let the wiles and deceits of the enemy and his devious minions convince you that you are to surrender to them with a whimper and a groveling.  These are rebels, insurgents, renegades, outlaws, perverts, murderers, liars, rapists, pedophiles, would-be destroyers of all that is good and holy and of God.

There are two types of children in the world, of which we are one or the other.  The children of the devil . . . the children of God.  Who is not for Him is against Him.  There is NOT a murky middle, a compromising space between. . . . Some are of their "father the devil" . . . the rest are of their Father God, King and Creator of the universe, Sovereign over all. . . .

Did God make the world, wishing and hoping it went well?  Then, using a contingency plan, stepped in to TRY to save it?

Or is He in complete control, from beginning to end, and His purposes are meant for the full demonstration of His will and character, according to HIS own "good pleasure"?

His Word is clear:

"What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory . . ."  --Rom. 9:22-23

The Truth

Jason Wallace--(a local pastor whose weekly cable tv program I very much enjoy and appreciate watching)--made a great point last night. . . .

He was expressing his exasperation over how many people these days simply do not care what the TRUTH of a thing is.  He used the Mormon Church and Shawn McCraney as key examples but the proclivity is everywhere.

In the LDS case, he pointed out the main feature in all this.  What they (and others) have done, is REDEFINE what "truth" is in the first place.  It is not something objective that can be found, discovered . . . and is what it is despite different people having different opinions or interpretations of it (note:  "no prophecy of scripture is of private interpretation" --2 Pet. 1:20). . . .

Jason referred to a show of his where he had a couple on--two top members of the Genesis Group (a black LDS support type group)--and he pointed out the failed prophecies of Joseph Smith and they shrugged it off and reiterated that they "knew" Joseph Smith was a "true prophet". . . . Likewise, you can point out the multitude of lies and changes to doctrine throughout LDS history and most "true blue Mormons" will shrug it off and give their testimony that "I know the church is true; that Joseph Smith was a true prophet" etc.  REAL truth doesn't matter.  What Jason put his finger on is that they have a different definition of "truth".  In their case (as in so many these days) "truth" is simply a feeling and specifically a feeling that you get when you are able to fit whatever . . . into the idol you've made for yourself (your opinion/private interpretation) as to what, how, who you feel God is or should be. . . .

McCraney the other night made the statement that the 2nd Coming already happened in 70 AD . . . and that since then Christianity is a totally "100% subjective" thing now--an "experience" . . . in other words a "feeling" you get which supports your individually concocted notions.  Thus, he went on, there is no longer a need for a church or for any "authorities/elders" of "the church" to guide you.  It's all subjective.

However, the Bible--the Word of God is clear.  In fact, the fallen man/woman HATES Truth and tends to follow instead their own "deceitfully wicked" hearts.  In fact, the "heart" (subjective experience) is NOT to be trusted.  There is Truth with a capital "T".  JESUS is the TRUTH, the way and the life.  And there is NO OTHER way to God but through Him!  And the scriptures are given so that we can check our individual, personal, notions, feelings, speculations (like "good Bereans") against an OBJECTIVE AUTHORITATIVE STANDARD!

Pilate cynically asked Jesus, "what is truth"? . . . in the way that all unbelievers ask it, as if really . . . there is no way to know "truth" . . . everybody "has their own truth" . . . and so, why bother trying to define or proclaim It. . . .

But it is the TRUTH which sets you free!  Not feelings, not subjective leanings and concoctions. . . .

Indeed, these enslave one to fantasies built on the evil wanderings of the fallen heart.  "And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."  --2 Tim. 4:4

I remember in my earlier days of searching and seeking. . . . I knew there was a God from my own reasoning and from experience.  I kept looking to find Him because it made no sense to me that since He DID exist, He certainly would have provided a way, a text--SOMETHING--in this world through and by which we could better come to know and learn of Him.  And I would not settle for something that just made me "feel" better or comported with the way I thought He ought to be.  No, I wanted THE TRUTH!  Whatever it was, whether it fit with my personal notions, talents, proclivities, personality etc. or not.  THE TRUTH is what I wanted above all else.

Which is why I find it so wonderful, so fulfilling, so comforting, so encouraging, so illuminating . . . to discover that He HAS provided us with the Truth--indeed HE IS . . . THE TRUTH!

Who is it that can settle for less?  Who is content to park it in the ever shifting, wandering, dark corners of "subjective experience" divorced from a sure standard?

Those who are "lovers of themselves" . . . "proud" . . . "always learning but never able to ACKNOWLEDGE the truth" . . . .

These verses lay it out quite plainly . . . and woe to those who deny THE TRUTH!  Repent!

1 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God-- 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. 6 They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, 7 always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth.  --2 Tim. 3:1-7

"Stop The Insanity!"

I like the hard questions. . . . The ones that apologists and other would-be defenders stutter and stumble over when asked. . . .

I believe in the whole of God's Word; it is in the seeming conundrums and paradoxes and offensive (to unbelievers) fronts where I find the biggest clues to His actual character and reality. . . .
-------------                 ------------------                 ------------------

Can you imagine if there had been a "mass mainstream media" in the time of Joshua and the conquest of Canaan back around 1300 B.C.?

Well, as there is "nothing new under the sun", there no doubt was a type of "mass media", whereby word got around about current events, catastrophe's, various "heroes and villains".

Life was carrying on as usual . . . folks having children, raising them, educating them in the ways of the culture. . . . There were poorer areas where the daily workers grumbled and strove . . . and villas where the wealthy had sumptuous feasts and enjoyed exotic entertainments . . . music, art, crafts and religion. . . . There was a people round about the hills by the beautiful sea there . . . who were minding their own business, trading and warring and marrying amongst one another . . . when reports started coming in about a fanatical group of interlopers who intended to dislodge them from their homes and cities. . . .

"What?  They are led by a madman who claims divine right to come and conquer and take our land?  Who are these strangers?  They come in from the wilderness , ragged and spouting cosmic nonsense about their "promised land"--OUR land--which they threaten now to steal while plundering and murdering our women and children all along the way?  What is this insanity!  They claim superiority over us according to their God's commands?  What madness!  Backward barbarians they are!  We will fight and put an end to this foreign insanity!"

Then came frantic reports of a slaughter.  The great city of Jericho had fallen, apparently due to some high form of witchcraft . . . and then the "occupiers" went about  putting to the sword every man and woman, young and old, cow and sheep!

"Free Palestine!" .... meanwhile....

"Right now in Syria and Iraq, girls are being kidnapped, raped and killed. Young men have been beheaded in front of cameras because of their faith. For a decade now I have been watching these gruesome video clips that find their way to me. This is the kind of footage that will never leave you. Nor will the desperate voices of the victims.
One of them was 26-year-old Ninar Odisho. Ninar was brutally murdered by the terrorists. The reason he was killed could be found on his body. The Jihadists had burned a cross into his face. Every day I get reports of atrocities. Our nation, our Christian legacy and our way of life are being eradicated. Assassinated.
So I must continue speaking out for Mary, a young woman in her mid-20s, who was dragged out of her house in Southeast Syria for being an Assyrian activist. She was pushed to the ground in the middle of the street and shot in the head. Then the terrorists shouted that they would murder the entire family of anyone attempting to touch the corpse. The same night dogs started to eat her body.
And I will continue talking about the Assyrian and Armenian girls who are kidnapped and forced to convert to Islam and marry Jihadists, as one Iraqi and Syrian city after another is being emptied of Christians.

At least 700, 000 non-Muslims — Christians, Mandeans, Yezidis and others — have left Iraq by now. No one knows how many have left Syria.
On June 19 of this year, a young Assyrian who was forcibly deported from Sweden back to Iraq called me from a basement in Mosul. He was whispering. He told me to listen to the surrounding noise: men screaming “Taqbir!” and “Allah u Akbar!” It was ISIS invading his city.
The next morning I went on Facebook and Twitter and asked my friends for help. I started a worldwide campaign. It is called A Demand For Action. We have sent e-mails to politicians, NGOs and media outlets all over the world. We will not stop making the voices of the victims in Iraq and Syria heard until they receive a permanent solution.
Last week, yet another village in Iraq was attacked by IS. The Christians of the Middle East have faced many massacres over the past century. We are now facing the prospect of a new genocide against Christians in Iraq and Syria.
And here’s a good question: Why is the most powerful country in the world silent as Christianity is wrenched of its roots?"

The Most Persecuted

Yeah, well . . . I'm suspicious when the controlled media all gets in line to point a  finger one way while ignoring a dozen other real genocides. . . . "Look at Israel!  Murdering women and children! Shame!"

Meanwhile we are hearing little to nothing about the million or so Christians that once lived in Iraq in relative calm, now leveled to about half that number, many killed, homeless, refugees . . . thanks to U.S. intervention and radical Islam . . . now ISIS exterminating and threatening them -- barely a peep.
The tens of thousands of Christians in Southern Sudan bombed, murdered tortured . . . in Nigeria . . . yet you would think the Palestinians are the most tormented group on the Planet; no they are used as human shields by the death cult Hamas whom they voted into power. . . .

Nevermind the 50 million babies slaughtered in the womb in America alone since 1973--a million plus a year. . . . Little to no outrage over that. . . .

I work with a guy from the "old world"--from an area rife with antisemitism.  Everything is "da Jews!  It's da Jews!  Jews, Jews, Jews"  he decries as the source of all evil in the world.  I'm always thinking "my Lord Jesus was a Jew . . . the blessed apostles were Jews . . . God chose the Jews to bring His Word about in the world. . . . "  Just as America was a special country that was built on the foundations of Christian thought and purposes, so it has been a main target of the enemy and it's apostasy has been all the more tragic, ugly and dark in comparison.  So it is with "da Jews"--Satan thrills when he can subvert those of high calling and those that succumb become the worst of the worst when they turn.  But I never forget that the Bible I love and cherish--the Word of God, guide of my life, the Light of the world--came through Jewish hands, mouth and blood. . . .

By far, the most persecuted group in the world today--are Christians!  Genocide, plunder, torture, bombings, shootings, burnings alive, crucifixions, be-headings, kidnappings, starvation, dislocation, oppression--you name it.  By the thousands and now millions CHRISTIANS are the ones who should be on the nightly news with lame-brained, ill-informed, bigoted, left-wing "talking heads" shedding their crocodile tears . . . over the vast and violent persecution of the Christians worldwide. . . .

It is interesting and quite telling, the selective outrage seen in THE WORLD, by the unbelieving in this day and age. . . .
