What you fill your head with. . . .
I remember when the presidential elections were something that just kind of happened alongside the rest of your life. Yes, it was there and in the news at times BUT NOT the dominating daily theme around which everything else revolves.
Now, everything is political. . . .
I also recall when I took private Russian lessons from an emigre from Russia named Vadim how I plied him for what life was really like in Russia. This was in the mid 80s before "the wall" came down, before Glasnost and Perestroika. . . . And he told me how everyone there studied engineering and the sciences because all of the other programs/studies like liberal arts, art, history, social studies, political science etc., were completely geared toward advancing the Party agenda--the communist party agenda, Marxism. Everyone was sick to death of it being shoved down their throats at every turn--they weren't fooled by it, they knew they were being mind-guided.
Obviously, it has become just like that here in the U.S.
I don't let it happen. I will not allow my mind, feelings, soul . . . to be dragged through the gutter and through vapid, garbage thoughts and ideas, whipped up to anger, resentment, frustration, purely worldly and "politically correct" (Marxist) concerns. Look at all the life wasted by so many now who are allowing themselves to be directed in their interests and concerns into supporting or fighting this or that manufactured figurehead. Meanwhile . . . life goes on; all the "little", important daily happenings and relationships get starved while everyone lives in the abstract.
It's one thing to be aware of what's going on--quite another to be manipulated into focusing on it hour to hour, day to day. No personal growth, no individual development . . . as all is subsumed by the mass, state/corporate controlled media machine; which truly, I believe, has the devil as its CEO.
So much lost, wasted time spent on triviality, rot-gut. . . .
Life is short and getting shorter. How do we glorify God with what precious time we have left? THAT is the order of the day--the only purpose that matters, which has eternal significance. . . .
