Thanks Lee for the comment. . . . I know I harp on this issue a lot, but I tell you--I do so because I have found it to be the most powerful, life and consciousness-altering (Godward) realization and knowledge of anything I have done or realized in years of effort and study of things Godly (Spiritual).
That is . . . in recognizing and accepting wholeheartedly the complete and utter sovereignty of God in ALL things. No, He doesn't give us a "leg up" so that WE can get ourselves over the last hurdle . . . . No, some people aren't more "spiritual" than others and so, choose God. . . . No, Jesus didn't die to give us the "chance" or opportunity to then save ourselves. . . . No, we don't "create our own reality". . . . No, it's not true that if we are just "sincere", whatever our beliefs and efforts, God will eventually allow us entry in to Paradise. . . .No, it's not true that if "we just do our best, God will do the rest" (like Mormonism teaches). . . . No, it's not all about "just be true to yourself". . . . No, it's not about 'being good" and doing more "good" things to outweigh the "bad" (as Mormonism, JW's, classic SDA's, Islam, Catholicism and every other cult teaches). . . . No, it's not about "transcending duality" and "spiritually evolving" to higher and higher levels of consciousness/Godhood. . . .No, it's not about learning and applying "spiritual laws". . . . No, it's not true that "all you need is love" (unless by "love" you mean the specific Person Jesus Christ--which is NOT what most people mean when they say that). . . . No, it is not about realizing that the "sacred feminine" is closer to Deity than historic ("tyrannical") masculinity. . . . No, it's not about "finding your own way". . . . No, an individual's "free agency/free will" is NOT the highest value and purpose in the universe (above even God's "free agency/will" as Satanism/Luciferianism decrees). . . . No, we are not all "little gods" who have somehow just forgotten our "divine nature". . . . No, we are not "progressing" up some spiritual ladder to ever-increasing Godliness via reincarnation. . . . No, the ultimate goal is not to loose our ego so that we can merge with the "oneness of the universe". . . . No, God is not some great "force" or "energy" which we can access at will. . . .
And I know this how? Because HE SAID SO and HE (not me) is the final Authority. I don't know this because I thought "hmm, THIS sounds reasonable, THAT doesn't" . . . or because I FELT it "ought" to be one way versus another . . . or because this or that "just doesn't make sense" or "seem right" . . . ACCORDING TO MY OWN UNDERSTANDING. . . . No, I know it is the way it is because the Holy Spirit, Who teaches the Truth via His Word says how it is!
"For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them." --Eph. 2: 8-10
Even our good works "GOD PREPARED BEFOREHAND SO THAT WE WOULD WALK IN THEM."!
Secondarily, I know these things are true from experience. I tried intensely the various paths (which are all really just one path--the devilish path leading to destruction) . . . including the route of self abnegation (ie., Zen, Buddhism, Advaita Vedanta etc.) AND the way of self will/self indulgence/fulfillment (ie., the "left-hand" path, the world, New Age etc.)
Of all the rigorous methods, austerities and "spiritual" practices I employed (which He decreed) . . . to effect real, personal, metaphysical (Spiritual) change/growth . . . NONE compares in the slightest to the real, legitimate, metaphysical (Spiritual) transformation/growth/realizations/knowledge which has resulted from finally knowing and accepting and living the fact that it's ALL due to God's sovereign will/grace. It is ALL what Jesus did/does! I bring NOTHING! I can do NOTHING to achieve or warrant Spiritual salvation and growth. It is ALL in the Lord's hands. NOT A SHRED can I claim. There is NOTHING I can boast of having done or chosen or achieved myself. . . .
Consider what an infinitely important matter it is whether an individual ends up spending eternity in either Heaven or Hell. . . . Does He leave this all up to YOU?
No, God does not leave such a vital decision up to someone who is finite, fallen, corrupt, confused, weak, and foolish! Only Someone Who is omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, perfect and holy can make such a profound decision, thank goodness, thank God!
Praise God! What a Man!:)
