“A prudent person foresees the danger ahead and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.” --Prov. 27:12
So yeah, my point is just that. . . .
Watching the global regime tyranny snapping into place . . . and knowing how awful it will be, especially for believers . . . there seems to be little possible to do to prepare other than be ready SPIRITUALLY--according to the One True Spirit. "They" have no intentions of letting anyone slip out of the sides or maintain some island of independence from the universal program(s).
Some might ask, should we prepare (spiritually) at ALL . . . or just do nothing and see what happens?
Myself, I was pretty much born with the knowledge and focus on these end times events and have felt like my whole life was a sort of treading water until they finally broke. As of late, the Spirit is almost "yelling" at me to be awake, ready, alert . . . letting me know the time is near. . . .
I know from scripture a few of things regarding how to deal with tyranny and persecution. . . .
Ahead of time, we ought not to worry about the specifics of what we say to the authorities--how we defend ourselves when we refuse to submit to denying Jesus as Lord, but rather confess Him (Luke 12:11).
We should remember that Hell is a real place and threat to those who betray the Lord and not fear what happens to be body at the hands of the God-haters; but rather fear God who judges and sends souls to Hell. --Luke 12:4-5
When we are in that moment, confronted with the tyranny and persecution face to face . . . we should respond by the Spirit, confess the truth, trusting and fearing God, not man. In my earlier writings I made the point that if you don't really trust God NOW . . . and are, ie., always worrying, complaining, accusing God (of unfairness ie.,) don't be surprised when the time comes and real and immediate threats are dealing with you up close and personal--that you panic . . . and throw in with the dark side intimidating you.
The Word is also clear that we are not to be lazy, blind, faithless and foolish as to current events and recognizing the signs of the times. We ARE to be prepared and make some provision--and so checking and strengthening your real depth of TRUST in the Lord I suggest is advisable to do now, while there is still relative quiet (compared to flurry of events that are likely ready to descend from the wings.) Work while it is day, for the night comes when none shall work. . . .
Jesus went so far as to even suggest making preparation for self defense (Luke 22:36-38). Jesus' unique calling and mission does not equal that all His followers are to be pacifists in every situation. Even HE "got physical" when expressing righteous indignation. . . .
"To permit murder when one could have prevented it
is morally wrong. To allow a rape when one could have hindered it is
an evil. To watch an act of cruelty to children without trying to
intervene is morally inexcusable. In brief, not resisting evil is an
evil of omission, and an evil of omission can be just as evil as an
evil of commission. Any man who refuses to protect his wife and
children against a violent intruder fails them
morally." --J.P. Moreland
A lot of the verses that warn and encourage to be prepared emphasize staying "alert". Being alert is an existential condition which I believe includes mind, heart, body. We are told to be looking, expectant, "not sleeping as the others do." Staying in a prayerful, faithful condition is also stressed. This would be the "practice" I wrote of previously. Ahead of the troubles, I suggest striving to be in a faithful state, "alert" . . . practicing, training in "thankfulness" . . . "sobriety".
Here are just a few of the many verses encouraging preparation: Matthew 24:42-43, Luke 12:35-38, Matthew 25:1-13, Mark 13:33-37, Luke 21:36, 1 Thessalonians 5:6, Hosea 10:12, 1 Peter 4:7, Titus 3:1, Proverbs 6:6 –11, Proverbs 21:20.
So . . . expecting in the near future . . . to be faced with intense survival and flourishing decisions, and being responsible not just for myself . . . but family as well . . . I believe the Spirit is advising on just what ought to be done in the meantime. While I shall be not concerned right now just "how or what" I shall say to the oppressors when and if they get me face to face . . . I do plan on being "in the Spirit" so as to be able to respond to the Spirit Who guides me "how and what" to say . . . and so, presently am striving, working, training, practicing ("pray without ceasing, giving thanks") . . . to be strong in faith, in trusting God . . . in order that when the trials come I am not found wanting but "alert" . . . "sober" . . . spiritually prepared. . . .
It is also a time to be especially wary and on alert for false teachers, wolf pastors, deceiving spirits. We know that many pastors and "faith" leaders have already been contacted and conscripted to help establish the new order when chaos-producing-order ensues. . . . I expect there to be roughly two kinds of treacherous "pastors". One type will be provocateurs encouraging foolish, radical actions, possibly violent actions. The other will lean heavily on Romans 13:1 encouraging absolute pacifism, subservience to government in every way. The former will say, "prepare to fight" . . . the latter, "prepare to submit".
The good pastor will emphasize loving AND fearing God above all, then loving neighbor as loving self. Fearing God more than men may mean fighting, resisting in some instances . . . surrendering and submitting in others. Knowing which and when, "how and what" . . . will require close relationship with and in the Spirit . . . which ought already be established well ahead of time, as it should be our state of being REGARDLESS of the times, but especially . . . when, being on the "alert" . . . the signs are seen and recognized. . . .
