The Nation Turned Over
The nation has turned from God. As has happened many times in the past . . . He withdraws His restraining grace and turns the wicked over to their lusts and blasphemies. Depravity runs riot, on full display, as the wicked hearts of men and women find no barrier to the acts of their fallen, demon compelled souls. The natural evil within them bursts forth and rushes to cause harm and ruin. God, spurned by the elite, by the commoners, by the church, by many self seeking false prophets . . . opens the gates and allows the armies of darkness to swarm inside and takes the city hostage. The nation's enemies are given free reign to bring destruction, judgment on the lazy, indolent, idolatrous people. The nation is under judgment. She has turned from God. Her ministers are a mockery. The elders have left their stations. No one heeded the watchmen. Now comes the whirlwind.
"Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, against this nation do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time is evil.
You have forsaken me and served other gods, therefore I will deliver you no more. Go and cry out to the gods which you have chosen, let them deliver you in the time of your distress.
Because I called and you refused, I stretched out My hand and no one paid attention and you neglected all My counsel and did not want My reproof, I will even laugh at your calamity.
I will mock when your dread comes, when your dread comes like a storm and your calamity comes on like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come on you, then they will call on Me but I will not answer. They will seek Me diligently but they shall not find Me.
Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the Lord. They would not accept My counsel, they spurned all My reproof. So they shall eat of the fruit of their own way and be satiated with their own devices."
"The Lord is a jealous God and avenging, the Lord is avenging and wrathful;
the Lord takes vengeance on his adversaries and keeps wrath for his enemies.
The Lord is slow to anger and of great might,and the Lord will by no means clear the guilty.
His way is in whirlwind and storm,
and the clouds are the dust of his feet. He rebukes the sea and makes it dry, he dries up all the rivers;
The mountains quake before him, the hills melt; the earth is laid waste before him,
the world and all that dwell therein. Who can stand before his indignation?
Who can endure the heat of his anger?
His wrath is poured out like fire,
and the rocks are broken asunder by him." --God in His Word
