All Is In Shambles, except.....

Sure is a lot goin' on . . . .

I find it none too ironic--in fact, not ironic at all, but typical . . . that while many have said that Mitt Romney ought not have his religion become a negative topic, being irrelevant to the political race . . . suddenly Santorum's religion IS ok to smear and target.

And guess where the leaks are coming from--this anti-Catholic smear campaign?  From Romney's camp.  Trust me, there is a strong anti-Catholic vitriol that runs through a lot of L.D.S. culture.  I remember it when I was young and growing up around "the church" (the Mormon church.)  I was taught by some of my Mormon family and church leaders . . . that the Catholic religion was the "whore of Babylon". . . though not just Catholics by the way were mocked.   An uncle of mine referred to Born Again Christians derisively. . . as "Still Born Christians" . . . .

Now, whether the Catholic church is or is not the "whore of Babylon" is not my point . . . .

I'm just saying I have found the negative, dishonest, sneaky, two-faced leaks by Romney's "super PACS" (which are mostly run by old Romney staffers) against the other candidates . . . to be . . . telling . . . of his character . . . .

There was good evidence from reliable sources (I trust, like Mark Levine author of "Ameritopia") that the leaks that took out Herman Cain . . . came NOT from the democrats . . . but from Romney's "opposition research" investigators, and then "leaked" to the liberal media.

Same with the multi-million dollar smear campaign against Gingrich which contained a myriad of half-truths and outright lies.

I am no fan of Gingrich . . . or Cain for that matter . . . but simply found the desperation and underhanded campaigning by Romney's camp destructive and distasteful, to say the least, where the stakes are so high in the effort to unseat the American wreaking ball--Obama, before the velvet glove comes off the iron fist.

Now that Santorum is climbing in the ranks . . . (who I have supported most all along out of the original pack of candidates) . . . suddenly . . . attacking someone's religion IS ok.  It is Romney's camp that are leaking to the ravenous left-wing media the so-called "controversial" comments by Santorum about, ie., Satan wanting to attack America, or that the Protestant church is in bad shape . . . .

[Actually, I happen to agree with both those statements . . . . ]

But anyway, point is . . . what type of person would want to HELP give the communist, anti-American, anti-Christian, pro-Obama media "investigative reports" which HELP to attack religion, Christianity, conservationism, biblical teachings, America etc?

There is plenty to disagree with between the candidates on policy without JOINING the enemies of America, freedom, Jesus, the Bible.  Yet, there's Mitt  . . . and his super PACS . . . pouring millions into sleazy ads full of lies and underhandedly attacking other conservatives and Christians, while the God-hating Left squeal with glee over their good fortune to have a help-mate in Mitt . . . as they join hands to undermine traditional values.

What is the big knock on Mitt?  Why is it said that he can't "gain traction" . . . and doesn't seem to be "exciting the base" of the conservative wing of the Republican Party?

What is the form of this reticence . . . regarding Mitt overall, coming from both left and right?

That he is a flip flopper.  That he has no core.  That he says whatever he thinks the crowd wants to hear to whom he is speaking.  That he is a phony.  That his new found "conservatism" rings hollow.  People--the conservative base, ie., Tea Party types . . . simply don't trust him!

Well, I never said that peoples' religion shouldn't be looked at and made an issue in this campaign . . . .

So, I'm saying this.  The L.D.S. church has changed its position on CORE, FUNDAMENTAL doctrines, like polygamy and blacks holding the priesthood . . . "flip flopped" on those and many other issues over the years, so I am not surprised that Mitt is a little . . . er, LACKING . . . in absolute convictions.

Mormonism is a relativistic religion.  They actually teach that what a current, "living prophet" has to say about a doctrine or policy TRUMPS all previous scripture and all previous "prophets" and that even if there is contradiction with the Bible, the "living prophet" has final say.

"Official Church Doctrine" . . . is WHATEVER . . . the current "living prophet" says it is.

Joseph Smith and Brigham Young (and other "prophets and apostles") taught that polygamy was ESSENTIAL to the "restored Gospel" . . . and REQUIRED for entrance to the Celestial Kingdom . . . BUT NOW . . . L.D.S. claim to abhor the practice and malign fundamentalist Mormon groups like Warren Jeffs' . . . as being "kooky" . . . "sick" . . . and "NOT real Mormonism".

Brigham Young, as "prophet" said that blacks would "NEVER" get the "priesthood".  Yet, in 1978, with increasing pressure from civil rights groups and the government . . .Pres. Spencer Kimball got a "revelation" . . . and VOILA! . . . now they can.  Revelation . . . "truth" . . . is . . . RELATIVE . . . .  You can "flip flop" if the ends justifies the means . . . .

Clearly, this is a religion of MAN, not God, Who is unchanging and not an "author of confusion."

Anyway, this is not a gratuitous criticism.  I just don't trust Romney.  He basically implemented Obamacare which is blatantly anti-constitutional and hardly conservative.  He use to be "pro choice" when it was convenient.  Now, it's convenient to be "pro life".  Opportunism on display, just like the religious doctrines he holds most dear.  He fights dirty and pretends he is not responsible for it.  I'd take him over the current wreaking ball, but that ain't sayin' much . . . .

--------------------------

Meanwhile . . . in other leaks . . . word has it that Iran has likely issued the execution order for Pastor Youcef and it's just a matter of time when it might be carried out . . . could be any minute or day . . . .

Yet, where is the media coverage on this?  Oh, a peep here and there, but where are our feckless political "leaders" fighting for the life of an innocent man, a Christian about to be murdered for his faith?

Oh, they're talking about condoms and being appalled that a Catholic mentions the devil in a talk at a Catholic college 4 years ago . . . .

And throwing blues-rock parties with Mick Jagger at the White House . . . .

Some are offended at Santorum saying that American Protestantism is in shambles . . . . I say everything is in shambles . . . . American Protestantism . . . Catholicism . . . Mormonism . . . . AMERICA ITSELF . . . all in shambles . . . .

One thing, however, is NOT in shambles.  The divine mission of Jesus Christ and His love for all, whether THEY are in shambles or not.  And they are.  But HE'S not!

And one day . . . like a thief in the night . . . while the mess is carrying on . . . He returns to set all back to rights.  AND . . . God imputes/accredits the perfect righteousness of Jesus to the believing sinner, even as the sinner yet sins.  "But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, so that, just as it is written, “LET HIM WHO BOASTS, BOAST IN THE LORD.” --1 Cor. 1:30-32

Can you hear that enough?  Not me.  I relish it!  I love it!  I thrill to it!  Tell me more!

Every day I dive straight into the hope and hovering glory that awaits and even now shines on this shamble of a life!  Can't get enough reading, hearing and speaking about it!  There is nothing else of consequence at this point in time.  Everything pales . . . .

What good is a presidency . . . a country . . . a world . . . WITHOUT GOD in it?  What good is a LIFE without God in it?  None.  All is a shambles, a wreck, a disaster, without the saving mission of Christ and the purpose of God!

Brother Thomas,
AMEN!
If not for the Lord, for Jesus...all would be a waste, lost, and in shambles. And most 'things' & institutions are...people are even with His Leading. But for His grace and righteousness!

Romney...good points! He does not get attacked on 'religion' as I have never really heard him speak on his beliefs and faith. Or apply it to his business or political life. Or in defending Santorum's speech or 'Christianity'.

And a quote from Ann, his wife, while remarking on his decisions at Bain Capital - but likely his thoughts in general, stated -

“He can argue any side of a question. And sometimes you think he’s really believing his argument, but he’s not.”

Flip flop, flip flop...attack, attack, attack....

And now an interesting (rumored) Romney-Ron Paul alliance...

Thanks for your discernment on this!

Blessings to you always!

Lee
